Press Release

Washington, D.C. (July 25, 2017) — Today, Congressman Elijah E. Cummings (D-MD) issued the following statement after Senate Republicans voted to begin debate on TrumpCare:

“TrumpCare will leave millions of Americans without health insurance, and it will cost lives.  This does not help the American people, it harms them.  It appears that President Trump and Republicans in Congress are more interested in scoring a political victory than in the damage their legislation will cause for American families.  I hope my colleagues will end their obsession with eliminating healthcare for millions of people just to deliver a blow to President Obama’s signature achievement.  I hope we can rise above politics and work together to truly improve the healthcare of all Americans.”
