Baltimore, MD (Nov. 22, 2018)—Today, Congressman Elijah E. Cummings (D-MD) issued the following statement to celebrate Thanksgiving:

“Thanksgiving allows us to reflect on what matters most in our lives. As we gather with family and friends to share a meal and give thanks for our blessings, it is imperative that we think of others. Too many of our friends and neighbors often go unheard, and their needs go unmet,” said Cummings.  During the November election, the American people demanded that their representatives in Washington fight for them and for what affects their lives on a day-to-day basis.  The American people have entrusted us to do such vital things as protecting their healthcare, lowering their drug prices, guarding their right to vote, and making government accountable to them.”

“As we give thanks and reflect this holiday season, let us commit ourselves to support our fellow citizens and dedicate our efforts to help everyone live up to their God-given potential,” continued Cummings.  “Today, I give thanks for everything with which my family and I have been blessed.  I am ever grateful for the trust of those I am honored to represent, and for the dedicated service of those who put the needs of others first.”
