Deadline Approaching - Sign up for Maryland's Homestead Tax Credit

To help homeowners deal with property tax increases on their primary residences, state law has established the Homestead Property Tax Credit. The Homestead Credit limits the increase in taxable assessments each year to a fixed percentage. Every county and municipality in Maryland is required to limit taxable assessment increases to 10% or less each year.

Homeowners  must submit a one-time application to establish eligibility for the credit, and the deadline to apply is quickly approaching. To get the credit for 2014, be sure to have your application in by December 30, 2013.
